The media talk held at Karachi on Thursday by Former Health Minister Mr. Zafar Mirza. The main points addressed were coronavirus pandemic, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and precautions to prevent its spread and the Covid-19 vaccine.

“We have been blessed by mercy of Allah Almighty in Pakistan that Crona virus has not effect us the way other countries have experienced its distress, These days, any talk about health turns to talk about Covid-19” he said at the event organized by the Pakistan Institute of Labour Education and Research at the Karachi Press Club.

Dr Zafar Mirza said that people of Pakistan are not taking second wave of Corona Virus Pandemic seriously. Although government is trying to applying the pandemic SOPs and banning big gatherings, functions and events yet these are still occurring in different areas of our country. Inspire of the difficulties, people and government should have responded to corona virus pandemic like we had done in the first wave of this devastating, dangerous and vicious virus

“In Pakistan, we apprehend the dangers of the coronavirus early. We had been preparing for corona virus from early January 2020. The first case appeared in end of February but we were prepared to take precautionary measures. Then came the decision of imposing lockdowns or smart lockdowns during the National Security Committee meeting during mid of March 2020. These lockdowns definitely had an impact on controlling the spread of the virus. The disease can be controlled even if 20 per cent of the people at a high risk of catching the coronavirus observe the SOPs. And we were able to do that in the first wave,” Mr Mirza said.

Mr Zafar Mirza tweeted the Corona Virus vaccine news on twitter profile.
