Massive Power Outage in Entire Pakistan on Saturday Night

Nationwide power outage in Pakistan on Saturday night. Major Power hubs were shut down due to technical fault at National Grid. This is considered as one of the biggest blackouts due to technical fault. Energy Minister Mr. Omar Ayub confirmed in a statement that a massive power electricity breakdown cause complete blackout in entire country.

The blackout was initially observed to be reported on social media. People of Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and other cities were complaining and sharing posts about power outage.

After a while, Mr. Omar Ayub tweeted that power supply started to be restored to cities in phases, initiated from Islamabad.

Mr. Omar Ayub also stated the cause of power breakdown in another tweet. He said that power outage happened after the frequency in the national power distribution system suddenly fell from 50 to zero.

He also elaborated that the reason for the frequency dropping was being investigated, adding that attempts were being made to fire up the Tarbela power station which will help to achieve a sequential restoration of power supply.

The minister Mr. Omar Ayub urged People to remain patient in his tweet.
