Submarine cable fault minimized Internet speed in Pakistan

0 0

The submarine communication cable, which is called IMEWE, recently went offline in Pakistan. The cable is responsible for majority of internet traffic and connecting people to the outside world including Middle East and Western Europe.

This has also affected the speed of the internet, as the 13,000-kilometer cable is also responsible for country’s bandwidth on majority standpoints.

Meanwhile, during the current situation Pakistan is working on a PEACE cable to increase the number of communication cables and diminish the communication outage problem.

The new PEACE cable is designed to have the capacity of 96 terabits per second and is expected to go live in the coming quarters.

The timeline for the restoration process has not been given yet; the expected idea is that it can take hours or even days.
