PTCL Successfully Tested the 5G Network Trials

PTCL successfully tested the 5G Network at their Islamabad headquarters in a controlled environment. The trial event was conducted on a noncommercial basis in a controlled environment.


Many high-profile members of the society attended the event, including Federal Secretary IT & Telecom and Chairman Board of Directors Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui. Federal Minister for Information Technology & Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque also attended the trial event as a chief guest.

Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Major General (R) Amir Azeem Bajwa, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahimi Alzabbi, other senior government and PTCL officials also attended.

The trial demonstrated what various 5G applications would do that included cloud gaming, remote surgery, and PTCL also achieved the fastest download speed at 1.685 Gbps.

Live surgery will only be possible through 5G, and doctors would be able to do remote surgeries in Pakistan’s far flung areas. Thus, creating more and more socio-economic opportunities and making the dream of digital Pakistan a reality.

Moreover, this 5G technology will help develop the Pakistan digital industry and provide an opportunity for enterprises and individuals.
