MandiExpress Pakistan’s first-ever fresh produce and grocery online delivery startup have raised $750k. The funds were raised through a pre-series A funding round led by the institutional VC fund Lakson Investments Venture Capital.

The startup also received follow-on funding by a private investor, Disrupt, backing the startup since its seed stage.

The startup gathers data autonomously through its tech platforms for its buyers. The company has warehouses at sabzi mandis where they store, sort, purchase and custom package their fresh produce, including meat, seafood, and gourmet products.

“I started this venture five years ago to create a platform with a vision to help local farmers, having learned about the problems they faced. The task seemed almost impossible at the time. Still, today we are deeply integrated with the supply chain at multiple wholesale markets across Pakistan, gradually digitizing the entire value chain,” said the founder and CEO Jehanzeb Chaudhri.

MandiExpress plans to scale its successful business model with sabzi mandis across Pakistan and meet the daily rise in demand by its various collaborations with e-commerce firms, said the chief executive.

The company aims to provide a platform to help farmers find reasonable fair prices, direct them to the market and facilitate their financial insertion in the fresh produce supply chain.
