According to the latest Bloomberg report apple has been reportedly working on its very own VR headset that will include a fan, a fabric design and a very hefty price tag. The headset may reach the stores as soon as 2022 as a standalone device, similar to Oculus Quest 2.

According to some reports Apple has been working on its one of the most advanced and powerful chips for this unannounced VR headset that might reportedly beats its own M1 Mac processors.

Apple reportedly has faced challenges in the development phase of this headset, many prototypes ending up too heavy and gigantic. To counter that the company is using a fabric exterior to reduce the weight and a fan, quite an odd move considering Apple’s emphasis on fan-less designs in the past.

Bloomberg also reports that the company is also including and testing additional features – the prototypes include external cameras to enable the AR features and also using these cameras to track hand movements and include features like virtual keyboards.

There is no official launch date decided by the company but according to many sources it could be in stores as early as 2022. It would be an expensive device rumors are that the company may sell one set per day at each of its retail stores or less than 200,000 per year.
