Alibaba Acquired another Asia Startup, Daraz

Alibaba, the China’s online shopping giant, expanded its business with acquisition of another online shopping startup Daraz.

Daraz is widely used online marketplace portal, operating in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Nepal. Daraz’s customer base is approx. more than five million (5M) with 30K sellers and five hundred (500) brands.

Previously Alibaba had acquired Lazada, the Southeast Asia’s number one ecommerce and online shopping place. Alibaba also owns Singapore’s Redmart, and have ownership in India’s Paytm and Indonesia’s Tokopedia.
